While we step into the month centered around love, I wanted to do something a little different. Instead of rushing ahead, I want to pause and reflect briefly on January.
This year, I decided not to set New Yearâs resolutions, but habits. Habits feel gentler, more realistic, and more sustainable for me.
I start with one habit and give myself 21 days to adjust. Once it feels natural, I add another. This approach helps me grow without pressure and allows me to truly show up as the best version of myselfâslowly, intentionally, and with compassion.
If you want to try this too, Iâd love to hear about it. Feel free to hit reply and share which habit (or habits) youâre working on. You might even inspire someone else.
One of my habits this year is reading one book each month. I was born and raised in the Netherlands, but as a woman with Pakistani roots, I felt deeply drawn to the book I Am Malala.
Malala is an international symbol of peaceful protest and courage. At just 15 years old, she was shot for standing up for a basic human right: a girlâs right to education. What moved me most wasnât only her bravery, but her unwavering belief that education can change lives, communities, and futures. Even after everything she endured, she chose hope over fear and purpose over silence.
Her story reminded me how powerful it is to use your voiceâespecially when itâs uncomfortableâand how access to education is something many of us take for granted.
In the spirit of love this month, I want to turn inspiration into action. Malala continues this work through her foundation, which supports girlsâ education around the world. If her story resonates with you, I invite you to consider donating to her campaign. Even a small contribution can help a girl stay in school and move one step closer to her dreams.
Love isnât just about flowers and giftsâitâs also about showing up for others in meaningful ways.
Thank you for reading, reflecting, and being part of this journey with me.

With love, Rehanađ¤
